I have just been exploring WordPress’ great new collection of introductory tutorials at Learn WordPress.com and there are some fantastic tips for improving the way you blog. These will be terrific for students when introducing them to blogging.

I am particularly keen to try Zemanta which you can add to your post admin page and it will auto source copyright free images and related posts for you that you can then incorporate into your blog.

The Learn WordPress.com tutorials also link back to a lot of great material in their Share the Word blog like this post on Writing Rockin’ Blog Post Titles

As such, it potentially represents a site of conflict and renegotiation between different forms of power. One interesting illustration of this is the emergence of Astroturf – fake grassroots media — through which very powerful groups attempt to mask themselves as powerless in order to gain greater credibility within participatory culture. In the past, these powerful interests would have been content to exert their control over broadcast and mass market media but now, they often have to mask their power in order to operate within network culture.
